GILLETTE, Wyo. — Leftover Wyoming elk and deer hunting licenses will go on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
“Leftover license availability changes each year based on what hunters applied for and received in the initial draw. Jennifer Doering, license section manager with Game and Fish, said. “Sometimes there are a lot of licenses — sometimes there are not very many.”
“The majority of these licenses are in difficult-to-access areas on public land. We encourage hunters to seek permission to hunt prior to purchasing an over-the-counter license.”
A leftover license availability list is available on the Wyoming Game and Fish website where people can also purchase the leftover licenses starting Wednesday. People will also be able to purchase the leftover licenses at Game and Fish regional offices and at its headquarters in Cheyenne, 5400 Bishop Blvd.
