One person is dead and another injured after a rollover crash on Interstate 80 on Sunday afternoon.

According to a preliminary report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado was heading east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 227 when the driver apparently started to fall asleep.

The vehicle drifted to the right and off the road before the driver overcorrected back to the left. The vehicle then crossed both lanes of travel into the median when the driver overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to trip and roll.

A 17-year-old passenger, a Colorado resident, died in the crash. There is no information on the driver. One other person was injured. The report says the seat belt was being improperly used but provides no further detail.
