Julie Ann Korang: October 10, 1974 – April 9, 2022
Julie Ann Korang passed away unexpectedly at home on April 9, 2022. A memorial service will be held at Gillette Memorial Chapel on April 15, 2022 at 11:00 MST. Julie was born October 10, 1974 in Baudette, Minnesota to James and Mary Jo Jordan, joining her sister Dawn and brother Robert. Shortly after Julie was born, the family moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where Julie was raised and went to school. Eventually Julie moved to Gillette and managed Avis Rent a Car from 98 – 07. From there Julie worked in the mining industry, working at Sulzer EMS until 2018. After Sulzer Julie changed careers, focusing on accounting working for a local CPA until the time of her passing.
Julie was blessed with her beautiful daughter, Halle Joanne on April 25, 2007. As a single mom, Julie made a wonderful home for her and her daughter. While working at Sulzer, Julie met her soulmate and future husband, Joseph Korang. Joe and Julie were married on May 31, 2014 in Spearfish, South Dakota. With this union Julie was blessed yet again with her bonus daughter Hannah. Together their family was complete and they could not have been happier.
Julie was passionate about many things. She loved her cats! She would always say “Love me Kitty!” Julie loved the 80’s hairbands, music, U2, the UFO Rendezvous at Devil’s Tower and especially camping with Joe and the girls. Most weekends would find them camping anywhere from North Dakota, Spearfish and the Big Horn Mountains. Julie’s greatest love of all was her family and many friends. All of the camping trips focused on family and friends and sitting around the campfire and laughing. Her hugs will be incredibly missed by all who were lucky enough to be a part of her life.
Julie is survived by her soulmate and husband, Joseph, daughters Halle and Hannah of the family home. She is also survived by her sister Dawn Helling (Bud) of Sheridan. Brother Robert Jordan (Kathy) of Mosinee, Wisconsin. Nieces, Stefanie Helling (Bo) of Sheridan, Tiffany Helling (David) of Pine Haven and great Niece Quinn Corns of Pin Haven. Aunts Carol Hunchis of Lake Mills, Iowa, Rita Krueger of Baudette, Minnesota, Jeanette Armstrong of Osage, Iowa, her Uncles Donnie Krueger of Baudette and John Weinberger of Hemet, California and many cousins, some of which she had more recently reconnected with including Kelly Krueger of Baudette and Jordan Hunchis of Rochester, Minnesota.
Julie is also survived by Joe’s family who were so incredibly special to her. Joe’s parents, Pete and Barb Korang of Hettinger, North Dakota, sister-in-law Vonnie Provinzio (Steve) of Woodbury, Minnesota, niece Abby Provinzio, nephew Drew Provinzio of Woodbury, Joe’s Auntie Flipper Weisbeck of Rapid City, South Dakota, Uncle Vince Korang of Rapid City, South Dakota, Uncle Tim and Aunt Roberta Tommerson of Henderson, Nevada and David Tommerson of West Fargo, North Dakota.
Julie is also survived by Bob and Jacque Gray who held a very special spot in her heart. As Halle’s grandparents, they were a very important part of Julie’s life. Their love and support was so appreciated as they were always there for Julie and Halle, even joining in on camping adventures.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jo Jordan, her grandparents, Uncles John Hunchis, Garth Jordan and Aunt Shirley Weinberger.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, any donation be made to the Second Chance Cat Rescue, 1850 Gabrielle Court, Sheridan, WY 82801. Julie loved those kittys!
Julie leaving us way too soon is an unspeakable tragedy. She will be missed by all who loved her. Our family cannot imagine our lives without her smile, laugh, wisdom and hugs. Love you Julie
