Michelle Raven Young

Michelle Raven Young: June 18, 1963 – March 4, 2022

Celebration of Life for Michelle Raven Young, 58, of Gillette, will be Friday, April 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Family Life Church with Pastor Marty Crump officiating. Michelle passed away peacefully surrounded by those who love her. Michelle was born in Flint, MI and was raised by her mother, Linda Metevier. After graduating from Kearsley High School, she earned her degree in Animal Science. She was very passionate about animals, specifically dogs. Michelle owned and operated Ravenwood Kennels, breeding Pekingese. in 2002, Michelle was married to Nave Young. The two moved family and dogs to Gillette, WY in 2008. Michelle loved spending time with her family and adored her beautiful granddaughters. Most of her day was caring for her dogs and making their lovely home. Michelle will be remembered and missed by husband, Nave Young; daughters, Chelsea, Samantha and Scarlet; granddaughters, Emma and Willa; mother, Linda Metevier; along with brother, Ron Metevier. Maxine Fern Edlund

Maxine Fern Edlund: April 5, 1925 – March 3, 2022

Memorial service for Maxine Edlund will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at Walker Funeral Home with Chaplain Gordon Harper officiating.  Maxine F Edlund, age 96 passed away March 3, 2022, at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, WY. Maxine was born April 5, 1925 in Scobey, MT to Frank and Myrtle (Steen) Shanks. Maxine was the 9th child of 12. She was raised and attended schools in Bainville, MT. She married Francis William Murray in 1943 and had 7 children. Married Robert Broach in 1978 and Dale Edlund in 1987. Maxine loved all forms of art and was an incredible painter and quilter. Her many paintings and blankets will carry on her legacy for a many years to come. But above all else she loved the Lord and her bible. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Myrtle Shanks, her siblings, Helen Shanks; Virgil Shanks; George Shanks; Everett Shanks; Lenard Shanks; Marvin Shanks; Glen Shanks; Arthur Shanks; Ruby (Shanks) Olson; Frank Shanks; and Norman Shanks, children; infant Marla Murray and Paulette (Murray) Nordwick. She is survived by children, Chester (Marla) Murray; Carla (Robert) Erickson; Kelly (Charlotte) Murray; Lili (Morris) Hunter; and Sheldon (Dena) Murray; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Maxine will be buried in Murray cemetery in Homestead, MT in the spring. We will have a small family gathering at that time. Lucille Garinger

Lucille Garinger: August 11, 1928 – March 5, 2022

Memorial service for Lucille Garinger will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2022 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Lucille Garinger, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022.  Lucille was born August 1928, in the midst of the Great Depression, the third of eight children born to Lawrence and Lena (Drury) Ament.  Lucille spent her younger years growing up around the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, area. Lucille married Leo Kuemper in 1947.  To that union five boys were born.  Albert, Charlie, Robert, Roger and Bruce.  They later divorced. In 1957, Lucille met and married the love of her life, Bard Garinger.  To this union three more children were born: Brenda, Vikki and Brad. Lucille traveled and lived all along the West Coast as Bard worked as an over-the-road truck driver, until finally settling in Wyoming.  Their first stop was Laramie, then Riverside, Casper, and finally settling in Gillette. Lucille was a homemaker while Bard continued to work in the oilfields. When they retired, they became snowbirds, moving to Mission, Texas, so they could golf and enjoy the warm winter weather with friends and family. Lucille was an active member of the Gillette Community.  Volunteering for any Cam-plex event, reading to children in local schools, visiting the Senior Center daily, playing pinochle with her friends, and lots of bowling and golf. Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Bard; brothers, Bernard (Buck) Ament, Kenneth Ament, Edward Ament, Herb Ament, Alvin Ament, and her sister, Anne Gabel. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Bill) Andrews; Vikki Strande; and her sons Brad (Deena) Garinger; Al (Loriane) Kuemper, Charles (Diana) Kuemper; Robert (Mary Jo) Kuemper; Roger (Sue) Kuemper; and Bruce Kuemper; her sister, Lillian Finn; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
