COVID-19 Update for Wednesday, Jan. 26

There have been 447 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County since Jan. 18, including 1 new case involving the Delta variant, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Tuesday.

There remain no cases of the Omicron variant in Campbell County. There has been a total of 237 cases of the Omicron variant statewide, 119 of which have been reported in Albany County, per WDH.

The latest data, updated on Jan. 24, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 9,767, the number of probable cases to 1,044, and the number of recoveries to 10,103, per WDH.

As of Jan. 24, there are 530 active lab-confirmed cases and 6 active probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.

There have been no new deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the previous update Jan. 18. As of Jan. 24, 1,601 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 131 of whom resided in Campbell County.

Statewide, the number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 5,639 to 108,554 and the number of probable cases has increased to 279,319 since Jan. 18.

There are currently 5,792 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 454 active probable cases, and have been a total of 128,503 recoveries in Wyoming.

As of Jan. 24, the most recent vaccine data update, approximately 256,454 Wyoming residents, or 44.13 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Approximately 73.9 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 53.2 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 31.2 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.

Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County (25.74 percent), with 28.01 percent of the entire county population, roughly 12,981 residents, fully vaccinated, WDH says.

There have been 9,036 COVID-19 variant cases detected in the state, 7,617 of which were identified as the Delta variant, which continues to be the most prominent variant strain in Wyoming, per WDH.

In Campbell County, there have been a total of 983 cases of the Delta variant identified, per the WDH.
