There have been 42 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County since Dec. 28, including 25 new cases involving the Delta variant, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Tuesday.
There are no cases of the Omicron variant in Campbell County. There has been a total of 6 cases of the Omicron variant statewide, per WDH.
The latest data, updated on Jan. 3, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 8,666, the number of probable cases to 961, and the number of recoveries to 9,439, per WDH.
As of Jan. 3, there are 56 active lab-confirmed cases and no active probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.
There have been no new deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the previous update on Dec. 28. As of Jan. 3, 1,526 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 130 of whom resided in Campbell County.
Statewide, the number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 800 to 92,352 and the number of probable cases has increased to 24,291 since Dec. 28.
There are currently 969 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 205 active probable cases, and have been a total of 113,889 recoveries in Wyoming.
As of Jan. 3, the most recent vaccine data update, approximately 252,268 Wyoming residents, or 43.59 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Approximately 73.6 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 52.6 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 30.5 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.
Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County (25.34 percent), with 27.55 percent of the entire county population, roughly 12,766 residents, fully vaccinated, WDH says.
There have been 8,230 COVID-19 variant cases detected in the state, 7,042 of which were identified as the Delta variant, which continues to be the most prominent variant strain in Wyoming, per WDH.
In Campbell County, there have been a total of 918 cases of the Delta variant identified, per the WDH.
