Here is a brief summary of all things crime that happened in and around Gillette yesterday, obtained through law enforcement reports from the Gillette Police Department (GPD) and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
Destruction of property, Dec. 29, Express Dr, GPD
A 39-year-old female reported that someone shot out the front passenger window of her 2009 GMC with a bb gun yesterday morning shortly before 7 a.m. on Express Drive, GPD Lt. Brent Wasson said. The damage was estimated at $500 and is believed to have occurred after 5:45 p.m. Dec. 28 and 6:50 a.m. Dec. 29. The investigation is ongoing.
Drugs, Dec. 29, E. 8th St, GPD
Officers arrested a 30-year-old female for possession and use of methamphetamine after responding to assist the Department of Family Services and the Probation and Parole Office who were concerned drugs were being used around juveniles, Wasson said. In the residence, they reportedly located trace amounts of meth and used syringes in a room belonging to a 40-year-old male and in other areas of the house. In the 30-year-old female’s room, they allegedly located .25 grams of meth after she admitted that she was currently under the influence. While officers were at the residence, a 31-year-old male showed up who had an active Campbell County warrant for failing to pay fines and for family violence. He too was arrested, Wasson said.
Crash, Dec. 29, W. 4-J Rd, GPD
A 57-year-old female and a 16-year-old female flagged officers down near West 4-J Road to report that they had just been involved in a crash, Wasson said. The 57-year-old female had been stopped at a stoplight at the intersection of West 4-J Road and 4-J Road in a 2020 GMC pickup when she was struck from behind by the 16-year-old female in a 2009 Chevrolet. The crash resulted in over $1,000 in damage and there were no injuries. The 16-year-old female was cited for no insurance and for following too closely, per Wasson.
Intoxication, Dec. 29, S. Gillette Ave, GPD
Officers arrested a 19-year-old male for intoxication after he reportedly drank almost an entire bottle of vodka and was transported to the hospital around 5:43 p.m., Wasson said. At the hospital, the male reportedly used profanities towards hospital staff and caused a disturbance. He was taken into custody upon his release.
Crash, Dec. 29, Hilight Rd, CCSO
A 22-year-old male was transported to the hospital for a head injury after he reportedly rolled his 2004 Toyota on the Hilight Road yesterday around 8:50 p.m., according to CCSO Capt. Eric Seaman. As of Dec. 30, the investigation is currently underway to determine what occurred.
Urinating in public, Dec. 29, Hwy 14-16, GPD
Officers will issue a trespass notice to a man who was reportedly seen urinating outside the entryway to the Arrowhead Motel last night around 11:52 p.m., Wasson said. A 37-year-old female employee told officers that the male presented his middle finger to the surveillance camera while he was urinating and requested that he be trespassed. The investigation is ongoing.
