COVID-19 Update for Tuesday, Dec. 28

There have been 22 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County since Dec. 21, including 11 new cases involving the Delta variant, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Tuesday.

The are no cases of the Omicron variant in Campbell County. There have been 5 cases of the Omicron variant statewide, per WDH.

The latest data, updated on Dec. 27, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 8,568, the number of probable cases to 950, and the number of recoveries to 9,525, per WDH.

As of Dec. 27, there are 50 active lab-confirmed cases and 0 active probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.

There have been no new deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the previous update Dec. 21. As of Dec. 27, 1,526 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 130 of whom resided in Campbell County.

Statewide, the number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 609 to 90,779 and the number of probable cases has increased to 23,344 since Dec. 21.

There are currently 835 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 63 active probable cases, and have been a total of 112,107 recoveries in Wyoming.

As of Dec. 27, the most recent vaccine data update, approximately 250,664 Wyoming residents, or 43.31 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Approximately 73.5 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 52.3 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 30.3 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.

Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County (25.13 percent), with 27.37 percent of the entire county population, roughly 12,683 residents, fully vaccinated, WDH says.

There have been 8,081 COVID-19 variant cases detected in the state, 6,895 of which were identified as the Delta variant, which continues to be the most prominent variant strain in Wyoming, per WDH.

In Campbell County, there have been a total of 893 cases of the Delta variant identified, per the WDH.
