COVID-19 Update for Tuesday, Dec. 21

There have been 15 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County since Dec. 14, none of which involved the Delta variant, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Tuesday.

The are no cases of the Omicron variant in Campbell County and 4 cases statewide, all in Albany County, per WDH.

The latest data, updated on Dec. 21, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 8,364, the number of probable cases to 950, and the number of recoveries to 9,289, per WDH.

As of Dec. 21, there are 57 active lab-confirmed cases and 1 active probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.

There have been 19 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the previous update Dec. 13. As of Dec. 21, 1,526 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 130 of whom resided in Campbell County.

Statewide, the number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 301 to 90,170 and the number of probable cases has increased to 23,237 since Dec. 13.

There are currently 1,165 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 40 active probable cases, and have been a total of 111,526 recoveries in Wyoming.

As of Dec. 20, the most recent vaccine data update, approximately 249,050 Wyoming residents, or 43.03 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Approximately 73.3 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 52.1 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 30.0 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.

Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County, with 27.14 percent of the entire county population, roughly 12,575 residents, fully vaccinated, WDH says.

There have been 8,026 COVID-19 variant cases detected in the state, 6,840 of which were identified as the Delta variant, which continues to be the most prominent variant strain in Wyoming, per WDH.

In Campbell County, 4 new cases of the Delta variant have been identified to bring the total to 882, per the WDH.
