Campbell County Health (CCH) does not appear to be affected by the recall of a shipment of COVID-19 pharmaceuticals reportedly contaminated with glass particles, the organization announced Monday.
The medication in question, Veklury, also known as Remdesivir, is used to treat COVID-19 positive patients at CCH, which was recently notified of a voluntary recall for two lots of the medication reported to contain glass particles, per a Dec. 13 release.
Both lots were reportedly shipped by the pharmaceutical manufacture Gilead Sciences, Inc., in October, one in late October while the other was shipped between late October and early November, the release states. CCH does not believe any of it’s recent Remdesivir shipments came for the contaminated lots.
“Upon thorough review of all shipments of Remdesivir received by Campbell County Health, we have not had or administered medication that is affected in this recall,” said Pharmacy Director Kirsi Ludwig in a statement.

Residents experiencing any adverse effects after taking Remdesivir are urged to contact their physicians or healthcare providers, per the release.
