COVID-19 Update for Friday, Oct. 22

There have been 89 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County since the previous update and one new death, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Friday.

The latest data, updated on Oct. 22, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 7,673, the number of probable cases to 868, and the number of recoveries to 8,221, per WDH.

As of Oct. 22, there are 197 active lab-confirmed cases and 43 active probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.

There have been 13 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the previous update. As of Oct. 22, 1,149 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 96 of whom resided in Campbell County.

Statewide, the number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 1,230 to 80,401 and the number of probable cases has increased to 19,773 since Oct. 19.

There are currently 2,444 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 1,177 active probable cases, and have been a total of 95,640 recoveries in Wyoming.

As of Oct. 18, the most recent vaccine data update, approximately 226,584 Wyoming residents, or 39.15 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Approximately 70.2 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 48.2 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 26.8 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.

Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County, with 23.85 percent of the entire county population, roughly 11,054 residents, fully vaccinated, WDH says.

There have been 4,588 COVID-19 variant cases detected in the state, 3,332 of which were identified as the Delta variant, which continues to be the most prominent variant strain in Wyoming, per WDH.

In Campbell County, 423 cases of the Delta variant have been identified.
