Camels, Bolts face playoff-bound foes Friday night

Nothing is easy the rest of the way in high school football as the state playoffs are just three weeks away. The action this week for Campbell County and Thunder Basin high schools will have postseason vibes as all teams playing are headed to the playoffs and are now battling for the best seeding possible in the bracket.
For the Camels, they have the tough task of hosting first-place Sheridan. After last week’s shorthanded 35-2 setback against Natrona County, CCHS must find a way to generate points against a defensive-minded Broncs team that needs a win to keep their hopes of winning the conference championship.
For the Bolts, they are one of those teams the Broncs are in a four-way tie with for first place along as well s Rock Springs and Cheyenne East. All four teams are 6-1 heading into the final two games.
To remain atop the standings, Thunder Basin has to slow down or keep pace with a much-improved Natrona County team that was near flawless last week against Campbell County. In that game, NCHS’ Kaeden Wilcox had four interceptions and scored a couple of touchdowns.

Both games are in Gillette and have 7 p.m. kickoffs.
