COVID-19 Update for Friday, Oct. 1

There have been 303 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County since last week, including 22 new cases involving the Delta variant, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Friday.

The latest data, updated on Oct. 1, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 7,036, the number of probable cases to 776, and the number of recoveries to 7,316, per WDH.

As of Sept. 24, there are 367 active lab-confirmed cases and 62 active probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.

There have been 41 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the previous update. As of Oct. 1, 996 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 77 of whom resided in Campbell County.

Statewide, the number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 2,498 to 73,922 and the number of probable cases has increased to 17,247 since Sept. 24.

There are currently 2,804 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 1,201 active probable cases, and have been a total of 86,348 recoveries in Wyoming.

As of Sept. 27, the most recent vaccine data update, approximately 218,077 Wyoming residents, or 37.68 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Approximately 69.2 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 46.5 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 24.2 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.

Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County, with only 22.26 percent of the entire county population, roughly 10,316 residents, fully vaccinated, WDH says.

There have been 3,358 COVID-19 variant cases detected in the state, 2,101 of which were identified as the Delta variant, which continues to be the most prominent variant strain in Wyoming, per WDH.

In Campbell County, 254 cases of the Delta variant have been identified.
