COVID-19 Update for Friday, Sept. 17

There have been 299 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 identified in Campbell County since Sept. 14, including 27 new cases involving the Delta variant, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced Friday.

The latest data, updated on Sept. 14, brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Campbell County to 6,354, the number of probable cases to 657, and the number of recoveries to 5,919.

There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths reported since the previous update. As of Sept. 14, 918 Wyoming residents have died from complications arising from COVID-19, 74 of whom resided in Campbell County.

As of Sept. 17, there are 371 active lab-confirmed cases and 62 probable cases of COVID-19 in Campbell County.

Statewide, the total number of lab-confirmed cases increased by 996 to 68,339 and the number of probable cases has increased to 15,619 since Sept. 14.

There are currently 2,897 active lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 1,461 probable cases, and have been a total of 83,958 recoveries in Wyoming.

As of Sept. 13, the date of the most recent vaccine number update, approximately 211,178 Wyoming residents, or 36.49 percent of the state population, were considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Approximately 68.5 percent of all Wyoming seniors over the age of 65, 45.2 percent of adults over the age of 18, and 21.8 percent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 were considered fully vaccinated, per WDH.

Campbell County continues to have the second-lowest vaccination rate in the state, behind Crook County, with only 20.5 percent of the entire county population, roughly 9,704 residents, fully vaccinated, per WDH.

There have 3,042 COVID-19 variant cases in the state, 1,792 of which were identified as the Delta variant, WDH says. The Delta variant continues to be the most prominent variant identified in Wyoming.

In Campbell County, 208 cases of the Delta variant have been identified.
