The 7th annual ‘Race The Roof’ fundraiser in honor of former Gillette Marine Jacob Ross.

The goal is to raise money in memory of our hometown hero and put it towards helping others right here in our community. The benefit was created in memory of former Gillette resident and Marine Lance Corporal Jacob Ross who,, at age 19, died in 2010 while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

“Every penny raised stays right here in Campbell County,” said Lee Boyd, commandant for the Marine Corps League. “We use the money in a lot of ways, like to provide scholarships for local students, provide assistance for local Marines, their families and veterans of all the branches as well as to provide assistance towards the Council of Community Services and Campbell County Fire Station #1 to contribute to their volunteer program.”
