Here is a brief summary of all things crime that happened in and around Gillette yesterday, obtained through law enforcement reports from the Gillette Police Department (GPD) and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
Fraud, Sept. 8, E. Lakeway Rd, GPD
Officers responded to East Lakeway Road yesterday at 9:24 a.m. after Medicap Pharmacy staff reported a potential fraud, GPD Corporal Eric Vos said. Staff reported a male attempted to get a prescription filled but left after they learned the prescribing doctor’s DEA number had been compromised. The investigation is ongoing.
DUI, Sept. 8, Ledoux Ave, GPD
A 41-year-old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated around 11:37 a.m. yesterday after residents reported she and a 48-year-old male were acting strangely at an apartment complex on Ledoux avenue, Vos said. The 41-year-old female, according to the report, then got into an El Camino and drove away. She was contacted at a gas station on 2nd Street and showed signs of intoxication. She was also charged with driving under suspension and no insurance.
Assault, Sept. 8, S. Douglas Hwy, GPD
Officers cited a 24-year-old male for battery after he reportedly struck an 18-year-old male during an altercation on S. Douglas Highway outside of Iseman Homes at 1:09 p.m., Vos said. The 18-year-old male had minor redness and a chipped tooth.
Burglary, Sept. 8, S. Hwy 59, CCSO
A 50-year-old female contacted the CCSO at 3:20 p.m. to report someone broke into her shed and stole between $8,000 and $10,000 worth of power tools and hand tools, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said, adding that heaters and a generator had also been taken. The female believes the theft occurred sometime in the last three days at Bloomings Café in Wright. The shed had been locked with the exception of an overhead door and there were no signs of forced entry. The investigation is ongoing, per Reynolds.
Drugs, Sept. 8, Carlisle St, CCSO
Deputies assisted Probation & Parole with searching a residence on Carlisle Street at 3:54 p.m. where 1.93 grams of meth, with packaging, was located in a camper trailer, Reynolds said. A 44-year-old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Trespass, Sept. 8, W. 4-J Rd, CCSO
A 59-year-old male requested his 89-year-old mother and 68-year-old brother be issued trespass notices for his property on West 4-J Road yesterday at 4:39 p.m., Reynolds said. The male presented the deputy with a court document signed by a judge that described the property boundaries and a picture that showed his mother and brother across the boundary. The requested notices were issued, per Reynolds.
Assault, Sept. 8, Dogwood Ave, GPD
A 13-year-old female received a citation for battery after she reportedly struck an 11-year-old female on the nose during an argument at Sunflower Park yesterday at 7:21 p.m., Vos said.
