Here are the C17 Crime Clips for April 21, obtained through law enforcement reports from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the Gillette Police Department (GPD).

Drugs, April 20, Svalina Rd, CCSO

A 29-year-old male was arrested for possession of a THC vaping device following a child custody dispute at a residence on Svalina Road around 1:20 p.m., CCSO Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said Wednesday. Deputies had been called to the residence by the Department of Family Services. Deputies also recovered approximately .081 grams of suspected methamphetamine in an outside dumpster, but were unable to determine who it belonged to, Reynolds said.

Crash, April 20, Hwy 59, GPD

A 48-year-old female was cited for speed too fast for conditions at 7:41 a.m. after she attempted to turn into the Maverick gas station from Highway 59, slid, and collided with a red Chevrolet driven by a 57-year-old male, according to GPD Lt. Brent Wasson. There were no injuries reported and over $1,000-worth of damage.

Crash, April 20, Clarion Dr, GPD

A 17-year-old female was cited for speed too fast for conditions after she slid out of control on Clarion Drive in a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, Wasson said. The female was unable to regain control of her vehicle and slid through a yard on Overdale Drive, colliding with a parked 2014 Ford pickup. The crash resulted in over $1,000-worth of damage.

Tobacco violation, April 20, E 7th St, GPD

Two 14-year-old females and a 13-year-old female were all cited for possession of vaping devices around 9:36 a.m. after staff caught them vaping in a restroom at Twin Spruce Jr. High School, Wasson said. Two vaping devices were located on one 14-year-old female, another one was seized from the other 14-year-old female’s backpack. The 13-year-old female admitted to using the vaping device, per Wasson.

Theft, April 20, Church Ave, GPD

A 33-year-old male was cited for theft after he allegedly removed a television belonging to a 29-year-old female while she was incarcerated in the Campbell County Detention Center, Wasson said. Officers were notified of the incident by the 29-year-old’s mother, 48, who advised that an apartment room belonging to her daughter was being ransacked and several items had been stolen. The 33-year-old male said that he took the television for safekeeping and that several other individuals had stolen items from the apartment.

Narcotics, April 20, Hwy 14-16, GPD

A 55-year-old male was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop on Highway 14-16 near Burma Avenue around 7:12 p.m., Wasson said. The male was stopped for failing to maintain a single lane of travel, after which a GPD K9 conducted a free air sniff and gave a positive indication. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 3.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Criminal entry, April 20, Clearview Court, GPD

A 56-year-old male was arrested for criminal entry and destruction of property after reportedly forcing entry into a home on Clearview Court belonging to a 28-year-old female and barricading himself inside, Wasson said. The man was located in the house shortly after the 28-year-old female, who was not at home, reported the incident and told officers the man did not have permission to enter the residence.  Following his arrest, the male was also trespassed from the property, Wasson said.

Domestic Battery, April 21, Tyler Ave, GPD

A 38-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence battery after slapping, biting, and pushing his 33-year-old girlfriend into a bookcase around 1:30 a.m., Wasson said. The incident was reported by a 53-year-old male who was trying to break up the altercation. When officers arrived, the female had a cut above her left eye from a glass jar that fell from the bookcase she was pushed into and bite marks on her abdomen, per Wasson, adding that the male was making nonsensical statements regarding the incident prior to his arrest.
