Here are the C17 Crime Clips for Wednesday, April 7, obtained through law enforcement reports from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the Gillette Police Department (GPD).
Drugs, April 6, Mecent Ave, CCSO
A 45-year-old female was arrested shortly after 12:30 p.m. on a Campbell County warrant for failure to comply with child support. She was also cited for possessing two THC vape pens, Campbell County Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. Deputies responded at the request of the Department of Family Services to assist with a court ordered search. Initial attempts to contact were unsuccessful, but on the second attempt the woman reportedly led deputies to a night stand in the bedroom and turned over the vape pens, per Reynolds.
Theft, April 6, Wright Blvd, CCSO
Deputies cited a 78-year-old male at 2 p.m. for shoplifting two packages of bologna valued at $4.20, Reynolds said, at the request of store management. Witnesses reportedly saw him place the packages in his jacket pocket and attempt to leave the store. The male was confronted by management and was detained in the manager’s office until deputies arrived.
Domestic violence, April 6, Bella Colla Ln, GPD
A 29-year-old female was arrested for domestic violence following a physical fight around 8:30 a.m. with her mother, a 50-year-old female, according to GPD Lt. Brent Wasson, adding that the fight had been about ongoing financial issues. When officers arrived, the 50-year-old female reportedly had a bloody lip and was holding clumps of her own hair in her hands. There were no signs of injury on the 29-year-old female, per Wasson.
False imprisonment, April 6, Kenadie Ave, GPD
Officers cited a 48-year-old female at 10:45 a.m. for false imprisonment for reportedly preventing a 22-year-old from leaving with a 7-month-old child, Wasson said. The 48-year-old female grabbed a car seat, in which the 7-month-old child was sitting, because she was concerned for the child’s welfare.
Probation violation, April 6, Boxelder Rd, GPD
A 42-year-old male was arrested at the request of his probation officer after he was found to have been drinking while on probation with alcohol restrictions, Wasson said. Officers contacted the man after it was reported that he, and a 45-year-old male, had been fighting. No action was taken on the fight, Wasson said.
