Gillette Woman Dead, Another Hospitalized in Crash East of Sundance

A 27-year-old woman died and a 23-year-old man was hospitalized, following a one-vehicle rollover caused by slick road conditions Friday, according to a Jan. 11 release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP).

The crash occurred at approximately 11 p.m. near milepost 189 on I-90 east of Sundance, the WHP said.

The driver, identified as Keelie Garvin, was driving a Ford F-250 west on I-90. Garvin lost control of her vehicle on ice-covered roads, causing her to slide off the interstate and into the median where the vehicle overturned, per WHP.

Garvin was wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash. The passenger, Corban Vassar, was also wearing a seatbelt and was transported to the Crook County Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash, the release stated.
