A structure fire destroyed a barn on Box N Ranch Road Wednesday, resulting in a complete loss, officials said Thursday morning.
The incident was reported to the Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD) at 11:43 p.m. Jan. 6. When the eleven responding firefighters arrived on scene, they found a 20-foot by 40-foot barn fully engulfed in flames, according to a CCFD fire incident report.
Firefighters fought with the blaze and had it under control in about an hour, according to CCFD Battalion Chief Kate Eischeid.
No injuries were reported by the property owners, including animals, but a horse trailer parked outside the barn sustained radiant heat damage, Eischeid said.
The estimated value of the barn and the horse trailer were not readily available at the time of publication. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, per CCFD.
Firefighters remained on scene until 2:49 a.m., approximately three hours after the fire was initially reported.
