A 10-year-old child abducted and reported missing in a statewide Amber Alert Friday has been found, the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) announced Tuesday.
The child, reportedly abducted from Idaho Falls, Idaho, was found in a broken-down vehicle on Wyoming 430, south of Rock Springs that was reported to WHP on Dec. 12. The child was in the custody of an adult male driver and a non-custodial parent identified as 30-year-old Gabriella Rodriguez by the Idaho Falls Police Department.
Upon arriving at the scene, the trooper reportedly noticed similarities between the vehicle and a vehicle mentioned in the Amber Alert. Following initial vague responses regarding the vehicle’s occupants, the driver reportedly admitted that the female and child mentioned in the Amber Alert were inside the car.
Both adults were arrested and the child was found unharmed, WHP says.
Misdemeanor amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine were also reportedly located in the vehicle, according to WHP.
Both the adult male and Rodriguez were charged with kidnapping, interference with custody, accessory before the fact and child endangerment with methamphetamine.
Rodriquez faces additional charges for possessing a controlled substance, per WHP.
