The accidents began just after 7:30 Thursday morning as the icy sleet and snow fell throughout the county. By nightfall, there had been eight single-vehicle rollovers, a three-car accident on Lakeway Road as well as more than a dozen fender benders.
Two of the early morning rollovers occurred on I-90 between mile markers 127 and 132 just before 8 a.m., according to an Oct. 23 release from the Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD).
Two more vehicles rolled at the same time at 10:18 a.m. that morning on Fairview Road and Highway 50, respectively. it’s not clear if there were any injuries.
Just after 12:30 p.m, CCFD responded to a second single-vehicle rollover on Highway 50 that had occurred earlier in the day followed by another on Boxelder Road less than a half-an-hour later. That driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and the extent of their injuries is unknown.
A seventh driver was involved in a single-vehicle rollover at 3:43 p.m. on Highway 387, near mile marker 125, followed by another roll-over on Force Road just after 4 p.m. Both drivers received patient care on scene, per CCFD.
Finally, three vehicles collided on Lakeway Road around 4:30 p.m, with one patient receiving care on scene, according to the report.
