Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD) firefighters extinguished the semi-truck that was fully engulfed in flames. The truck was a total loss, according to CCFD Deputy Fire Chief JR Fox, but the trailer appeared to be undamaged in the fire.

A bystander said he saw white smoke coming out from under the hood of the semi, which quickly turned a sooty black. Others on scene attempted to put out the flames with fire extinguishers from their vehicles while they waited for CCFD to arrive.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Fox said, and they did not know the name of the company that owned the truck. The driver was not injured in the fire.
