Inside AVA Community Art Center, Director Quinn Goldhammer set up a mini exhibit comprised of pint-sized paintings.
Friday night just got artsy!
The AVA Community Art Center (AVA) is teaming up with several locals and businesses to deliver their annual Summer Bash on Friday, Aug. 28. This year’s theme: Mini Art Matters.
Earlier this month, around 35 regional artists were given a blank “5X5” canvas with no rules to follow, AVA Art Director Quinn Goldhammer explained Wednesday. When the canvases were returned by each artist, Goldhammer brought the artistic works together in a colorful Wyoming-themed exhibit that is now on display at AVA.
Each tiny painting will be auctioned, with all bids beginning at $40, via Greater Giving or at the Summer Bash event itself. Winners will be announced at the event, which will be held from 4 – 10 p.m.
“I think the smaller 5X5 pieces will be perfect for our attendees because it’s allowed us to provide a more accessible price point this year,” Goldhammer said.
The paintings are not the only attraction at the Summer Bash, she went on. A variety of local eateries like Stagecoach Food and Catering, Wayback Burgers, The Rusty Bucket Food Truck and Liberty Sweets will be vending at the event alongside Big Lost Meadery, while Kellen Smith and The Nate Champion Band perform live.
Also, the Campbell County Libraries will host their Adult Spelling Bee from the event beginning at 5 p.m.
If you order your tickets in advance, admission will cost $20 for AVA members and $25 for non-members. Tickets will also be sold at the event, however members will pay a $25 admission fee while non-members should expect to pay a $30 fee.
Goldhammer and she the rest of the AVA staff are encouraging attendees to come prepared with their own lawn chair and face coverings.
