A Minnesota man and his passenger died in a fatal crash Aug. 11 on Wyoming Highway 24, east of Hulett, according to a release from Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP). This marks the third motorcycle fatality in northeastern Wyoming within the past week.
The driver, 56-year-old James Neyens, was headed southbound just before 5 p.m. Tuesday on his 1999 Harley Road King when he failed to navigate a curve and went off the right side of the road, per the release, colliding with a delineator post and overturning.
His passenger has been identified as 56-year-old Mary Aitken. Neither was wearing a helmet and both succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Both were from Perham, Minnesota, per WDH.
This brings the number of fatalities on Wyoming’s roadways to 71, compared to 103 in 2019, 64 in 2018, and 93 in 2017.
