Frederick “Fred” Lawrence Hazlett, 84, of Casper, WY, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home in Casper of natural causes. Fred was born September 12, 1935, to Josephus and Marjorie (Chafin) Hazlett in Clark County, OH. Fred lived in Ohio for forty-four years.
He met and married Betty (Jordan) on August 28, 1955. Together they moved to Wyoming in 1979. Fred worked several jobs throughout his life, and he retired from Peabody Coal Co. in 1999. Upon retirement, Fred and Betty moved to Texas for 14 years before moving back to Wyoming. Fred was a member of the Church of God. Fred married his second wife, Adrian Rudkin, on April 17, 2018.
Fred is survived by his son Mike (Debbie) of Wright, WY; granddaughters, Julie (Charles) Irwin of Bar Nunn, WY and Krissy (Geoff) of Newcastle, WY; three great-granddaughters, Autumn and Kailee Irwin of Bar Nunn, WY; and Olivia Knight of Newcastle, WY; wife, Adrian of Casper, WY; sister-in-law, Carol Hazlett of Buffalo, WY; several nieces and nephews in Buffalo and Ohio. Fred is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty; oldest son, Randy; and older brother, Dean Hazlett.
Funeral services for Fred will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Wright Community Center, Wright, WY with Pastor Jim Hawkins officiating; interment to follow at Wright Cemetery.
