Over 100 colleges facing budget shortfalls stemming from the coronavirus pandemic have already cut sports programs across the U.S. Will Gillette College and Sheridan College, both a part of the Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD), be the next to see their sports programs nixed in the face of financial fallout?
Sources close to Gillette College raised concerns Thursday morning that all sports programs are indeed about to be eliminated from both schools.
Staffers on campus at Gillette College refused to comment when asked Thursday morning.
As did NWCCD Public Relations Specialist Claire Barnes, who could neither confirm nor deny the rumors.
“No comment,” she said, noting that a press release would soon be shared with local news outlets possibly even later today.
