Several vehicles were marred in the parking lot at South Fork Apartments over the long Memorial Day weekend.
Gillette Police are looking for two males in connection with multiple vehicles that were damaged over this past weekend.
A couple living at South Fork Apartments noticed two individuals wearing dark sweatshirts and face masks, who appeared to be rifling through vehicles in the complex parking lot on the 4500 block of Running W Drive at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday.
When the couple confronted the suspects, they reportedly fled the scene on foot.
Officers arrived to find that multiple vehicles had been keyed.
The couple said they had noticed their Jeep had been entered and the glove box had been damaged. They also found the letters “XXX” carved into the hood of their vehicle.
Police also contacted the owners of a 2007 Chevy, 2009 GMC and a 2004 Honda parked in the same lot with similar damages.
The four vehicles, which appear to be randomly selected, were keyed with the triple X insignia on their hoods. Estimated cost to repair damages on these vehicles is over $1,000, according to GPD Lt. Brent Wasson.
The case remains open and under investigation. Suspects have not been identified at this time.
