A Washakie County resident previously identified as one of Wyoming’s laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases has died, according to a Thursday afternoon release from the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH).
The older man was a resident of a Washakie County long-term care facility identified earlier as experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak. Testing thus far has identified five cases among facility staff and six cases among residents.
This marks the first coronavirus-related death reported in Washakie County, where there have been 16 lab-confirmed cases, three of which were reported in the last 24 hours, along with four probable cases and eight recoveries.
As of Thursday afternoon at 3:15 p.m., there have now been 12 reported deaths statewide across 22 counties, 608 lab-confirmed cases, 546 recoveries and 193 probable cases reported so far among Wyoming residents, per WDH.
