Governor Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff Tomorrow to Honor Fallen Paramedic
A paramedic from Rawlins, who passed away in the line of duty, will be honored tomorrow with flags flown at half-staff.
Governor Mark Gordon ordered both the U.S. and State of Wyoming flag be flown at half-staff statewide from sunrise until sunset on Friday, Jan. 24, in honor of Wamsutter EMS paramedic Michael Wilder, 51, who died in the line of duty on Jan. 11, a Jan. 22 press release stated.
Wilder “suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while working the scene of a fatal car crash,” according to a Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s Office Jan. 11 Facebook post. “Our condolences to all those affected.”
A Casper College scholarship fund for paramedic technology students is being established in his name through the college’s foundation.
