This Holiday Season is Shaping Up to be the Best One Yet in Gillette!

The people of Gillette know how to have a good time. And, during the holidays, we like to kick it up a notch and put our own special spin on the season. We encourage you to spend some time celebrating with friends, family, and the whole community at these events.

Shop Down to Christmas

Now through Sunday, Dec. 15, The Chamber of Commerce will be giving away $250 in Gold Bucks for this holiday shopping season! Save your receipts from participating Chamber member businesses and present them to the Chamber to be entered in the weekly drawing. You can write your name and contact information on the receipts and drop them off, or include your name and contact information and submit your receipts by email! Winners are drawn each Tuesday following the contest week.

Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is in its 13th year and has grown to a regional destination and tradition for all to enjoy. Over 50 displays with over 1,000,000 lights make up Wyoming’s largest holiday lights festival hosted by Campbell County Parks and Recreation through the first week in January. The Parks staff prepares, sets up, and choreographs the displays to a variety of holiday music making sure that all who visit “ooh” and “aww” to their hearts’ content. Take a drive through Cam-Plex Park, making sure to tune your radio dial to the holiday frequency to enjoy the Festival of Lights. You can also enjoy an aerial view of the display when flying into or out of Gillette. Entry is free, but donations are gladly accepted at the yellow canister as you exit the one way loop in the park.

Gillette Main Street Parade of Lights 2019

Come to Downtown Gillette to watch the annual Gillette Main Street Parade of Lights Saturday, Dec. 7, from 5 – 8 p.m. The parade route runs from the 7th to the 1st street blocks of Gillette Avenue. This year’s theme is “Plaid Community” in celebration of the unique plaid created by weaving the individual businesses, services, and professions in our community. Show your support and join us as Gillette Main Street continues to celebrate our unique community by wearing plaid to the parade! After the event, you can vote for your favorite on Facebook.

In the Nick of Time Holiday Trade Show

Dec. 20 and 21,make a mad dash to stuff your stockings and load up your sleigh with gifts and goodies at this last minute shopping spree! There will be local businesses and homemade crafts for purchase just “In the Nick of Time” for the holiday season. Enjoy concessions and a cash bar while you shop. Gift wrapping service is available by donation and admission is free.

Kissack Water & Oil New Year’s Eve Buck & Ball

There’s no better way to bring in the new year! The 18th Annual Kissack Water & Oil New Year’s Eve Buck & Ball along with CINCH happens annually on Dec. 31 starting at 7 p.m. You don’t want to miss the best PRCA Cowboys, fresh from the National Finals in Las Vegas, competing for $60,000 in prize money, on the best NFR stock in the country. For the first time in eighteen years, the Buck & Ball has teamed up with the PRCA to ensure that the Buck & Ball Fans and Sponsors will be watching the best Bareback Riding, Xtreme Saddle Bronc Riding, and Xtreme Bull Riding yet!
