Gurley Avenue Resurfacing Construction Extended
The road construction on North Gurley Avenue from Kluver Road to the city limits going north has been extended through Nov. 30. The 1,200-feet stretch of roadway is currently being resurfaced.
“Closures have been longer due to weather delays,” the city’s Communication Manager Geno Palazzari said. “Weather has been a problem for us the entire year.”
Due to precipitation, rain, and more recently, snow, the schedule B projects have been pushed back throughout the year Palazzari added. The Gurley Avenue construction began later than initially projected and is being extended due to the weather.
The North Gurley Avenue construction began in early September as part of the city’s 2019 Pavement Management Schedule B, which is funded by the optional 1% sales tax. The total estimated cost of the Pavement Management Schedule for 2019 is $2,949 million, according to Palazzari.
