Campbell County Coroner Paul Wallem has identified the 19-year-old man killed in a one-vehicle rollover Saturday morning as George Rodriguez-Garcia.
Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said the crash, on the Edwards Road roughly 3 miles from Highway 59, was reported around 6:25 a.m. Oct. 5.
According to Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) Lt. Colton Lenz, Rodriguez-Garcia was driving a 1994 Honda Accord in rainy conditions when it appears he failed to negotiate a curve and went into a slide before the vehicle rolled at least twice.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt, but was partially ejected. Wallem said Rodriguez-Garcia died at the scene of massive head trauma.
The number of fatalities on Wyoming roads so far this year is higher than at the same time in the last five years.
Lenz said the WHP is investigating driver fatigue and speeds too fast for conditions as contributing factors in the crash.
