Upon Recent Arrests, GPD Reminds Citizens to Lock Vehicle Doors
Two 19-year-old males and a 19-year-old female were arrested last night for conspiracy to commit burglary after the Gillette Police Department (GPD) received a report of a possible theft around 11:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Knollwood Drive.
According to Lt. Brent Wasson, officers contacted the trio and through investigation, determined all they were looking for money in vehicles in the neighborhood. He said officers determined they had entered a vehicle on Knollwood, but nothing was taken.
“We have received an increase in the number of reports of theft from unlocked vehicles since summer began,” said Lt. Wasson. “The vast majority of the reports where property has been stolen is from vehicles being left unsecured.”
GPD urges citizens to lock their vehicles every time they are left unattended.
