A crash near Sheridan Wednesday brings the total number of fatalities so far this year to 106.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just before noon, Aug. 21 at mile marker 27 on Interstate 90.
A 62-year-old Tennessee man was driving a 2008 Honda Gold Wing westbound, when a mechanical issue caused him to lose control of the motorcycle. Both the driver and passenger, a 57-year-old Tennessee female, were wearing helmets.
The driver was transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The passenger succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.
Last year at this time, 67 fatalities had been reported, compared to 96 in 2017, and 74 in 2016.
