Friday, Aug. 9

Turtle Try-Athalon

The 411: A triathlon anyone can do: any kind of motor-less boat to and fro, walk/run one lap, bike two laps in any order. Participants can choose to do just one leg or all of them! Take your time and enjoy being with friends and family. This is an UN-timed, family friendly event! A limited number of kayaks and paddle boards will be available if you don’t have one. Registration and face painting starts at 5 pm.

Where: The Fishing Lake Dick Bratton Shelter

When: 5 p.m.

Cost: Registration fee by donation. This year’s proceeds benefit Hope for Beck

 

Free Sew Friday

The 411: Just bring your machine, a project, a lunch, and beverages in spillproof containers. Stay and sew all day for a 10 percent store-wide discount. Plus get help and inspiration. Call ahead to make your reservation (307) 257-3912.

Free Rodeo School

The 411: All ages and ability levels welcome

Where: Southern Campbell County Ag Complex, Wright, WY

When: Gates open at 5 p.m., Events Start at 7 p.m.

Cost: $10

 

 

Saturday, Aug. 10

Zeal Music Festival

The 411: Eight different bands, food vendors, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and more.

Where: Dalby Memorial Park

When: 1 p.m.

Cost: Free

 

PGI Sparkler Welcome

The 411: The Campbell County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Gillette Main Street are partnering together to attempt to break the world record for the most sparklers lit simultaneously. Everyone is welcome – invite your friends, family, and co-workers to join us for this fun community event to welcome PGI to the community.  Sparklers will be provided, and we are hoping to light at least 2,000 sparklers!

Where: Downtown Gillette

When:Check in at 6 p.m., Sparkler lighting at 9 p.m.

Cost: Free

 

Gillette Farmer’s Market

Where: Gillette College Tech Center

When: 8 a.m. to noon

Cost: Free to attend

Sunday, August 11

Pyrotechnics Guild Show

The 411:  PGI’s 50th Anniversary convention returns to Gillette. Shows will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Aug, 11, 13, and 14, and 10 p.m. Aug. 16.

Where: Cam-Plex Morningside Park

When: Gates open at 7 p.m.,  Fireworks begin at sundown

Cost: $50 per carload

 

City-Wide Prayer

The 411: Every month, prayer warriors from all area churches are invited to gather together for a corporate night of prayer! Attendees pray for issues affecting our city, state, nation, families, youth, and fellow Christians… wherever the Holy Spirit leads. Each month, prayer is held at a different church.

Where: City Church, 201 W. Lakeway Rd.

When: 7 p.m.

Cost: Free
