Meteorologist Alzina Foscato at the National Weather Service in Rapid City said all observers reported the twister stayed in an open field about six miles east of Rozet. However, without a weather station close to the tornado, Foscato noted, it’s difficult to measure max wind speeds and rate the tornado.

Crook County Sheriff Jeff Hodges said his office has not received any reports of damage either. Deputies were also tracking another possible tornado south of Sundance.

Hodges said there were also reports of hail in Pine Haven and Buckmiller subdivision north of Moorcroft.
