Pet of the Week: Fritz
This week’s Red Hills Veterinary Hospital Pet of the Week is quite the character.
Hi, I’m Fritz and I think I’m about 10 or 11 years young. Dog years are hard to keep track of.
I came to Rest Easy when my mom got really sick and my dad had to move away to be closer to family.
I came in with a toy poodle and a chihuahua and we were lovingly referred to as the three amigos.
My mom wanted all three of us to have a chance to find our “fur-ever” homes, so she decided it was OK for the rescue to place us in separate homes.
I was loved so much by my former family that I let myself get a little chubby, well more like chunky. But I’ve lost a few pounds with the love and careful food monitoring here at the rescue.
I’m starting to feel young again, and moving better, and can even climb the steps onto the bed myself at night.
I am potty trained and prefer a doggy door, so I can answer nature’s call. I’m pretty healthy, but my teeth need looking after. I still eat hard or soft food. Remember, I would be eligible for doggy AARP, if there were such a thing.
By the way, I’m an animal lover – well, cats and dogs anyway – I haven’t met every critter out there. Sometimes, if I’m not feeling well and a dog or cat gets too close, I’ll make a lot of noise, but like they say, I’m all bark and no bite.
I haven’t spent much time around little kids since there aren’t any at the rescue to play with. But I sure do love a nice lap and a gentle massage at night – or during the day – or whenever really. I’m flexible.
I am healthy as a horse – or dog. I’m up to date on all my vaccines and I’m also neutered.
Let’s see if we’re a match. Reach out to Carolyn and make arrangements for a visit. My schedule’s pretty wide open.
