Increased Enforcement Nets Seven DUIs
Campbell County law enforcement agencies worked together over the Fourth of July holiday weekend to crack down on impaired driving.
This was the fifth of at least six planned county-wide, multi-agency traffic enforcement actions for 2019. The goal is to reduce fatal crashes by focusing on impaired driving and seat belt violations.
There were no fatal crashes reported in Campbell County during the four-day operation. However, a total of 291 traffic stops were made, resulting in seven arrests for impaired driving. Law enforcement officers also issued 59 tickets for speeding, 10 seat belt violations and 75 warnings.
The next impaired driving enforcement operation sponsored by the Wyoming Department of Transportation is scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
