A 9-month-old child was taken into protective custody after the infant’s mother admitted to using methamphetamine in the child’s presence over the weekend.
Gillette Police were called to the 28-year-old female’s residence to assist the Department of Family Services with a residential search.
According to Lt. Brent Wasson, nothing illegal was found at the female’s residence. However, the female did display signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation, the female was arrested and the child was place in protective custody.
