A 9-year-old Gillette boy remains hospitalized in Denver after being attacked by a dog Friday afternoon in Nickelson Little Farms.
According to Campbell County Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds, the boy was riding a four-wheeler on Thomas Jefferson Road around 2:45 p.m. Friday, May 24, when he was severely bitten by a mixed breed dog.
The boy was flown to Denver for medical treatment.
The dog did not belong to the boy’s family and is currently being quarantined, as per CCSO policy.
According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, the boy’s arm was broken in two places and he suffered severe muscle and nerve damage. An update Monday stated he was recovering from his second surgery and another one was planned for later in the week.
Reynolds said no additional details are available at this time since the incident is still under investigation.
