Pet of the Week – Moose
Moose holds a distinction at the City of Gillette Animal Shelter that no dog ever wants to have. This Pyrenees/lab mix has been there longer than any other dog. He was surrendered by his owner in April after the family moved into an apartment. For Moose, who had always been an outside dog, this was a deal breaker.
As his name and lineage suggests, Moose is a big boy and at 2-years-old is still full of playful puppy-ness.
Moose gets along well with other dogs and kids, but not so well with cats. Although, he hasn’t been up close and personal with too many.
Even though he’s been an out outside dog, he’s taken to indoor life at the shelter pretty well. Shelter staff say the only time they find an accident in his kennel is occasionally overnight.
Moose has been neutered and is up-to-date on all his vaccinations.
He’s lovable and goofy and would make a happy addition to any family who’s willing to invest a little time and patience. It’s always hard to get to know any dog in the shelter setting with all the excitement of the other dogs and people milling around.
Even if Moose isn’t a perfect fit for your family, the shelter is full of a wide variety of dogs and cats that would love to find a “fur-ever” home.
