A Celebration of Life for Candy Lenz will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019, at Walker Funeral Home with Erik Bergquist officiating.
Candace Blanche Lenz, 70, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Close to Home Hospice.
Candy was born on June 29, 1948, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, to Joy Blossom Walz and George Edward Walz. Candy lived in Eastman, Wisconsin, until meeting and marrying Darryl Wayne Lenz. The couple had one daughter, Tammy. The family moved to Gillette, Wyoming, for work and after 18 years of marriage Darryl and Candy divorced.
Candy worked at Buttrey’s (Smith’s) Grocery Store until retiring. She then went to work for the Campbell County School District. She loved to work with people and food. She always made everyone laugh and was always in a good mood.
Even though her fight with cancer was brief, her spirit remained happy and she never let the cancer get her down.
Candy is survived by her daughter, Tammy McClure of Gillette, Wyoming; brothers, Doug Walz and Randy (Kathy) Walz of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Nicole McClure and Tristan McClure; grandniece, Colette (Mike) Difciullos and grandnephew, Kevin (Jillian) Walz.
