Flags Lowered in Honor of Peace Officer Memorial Day
Flags around the state and the nation will be lowered Wednesday, May 15, in honor of Peace Officer Memorial Day.
“On Peace Officers Memorial Day and throughout Police Week, we express our unending gratitude to our Nation’s law enforcement officers,” President Donald Trump wrote in his proclamation. “Those brave men and women selflessly confront danger to protect our families and defend our communities. We also honor those in blue who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. We are especially mindful of the tremendous sacrifices of the 106 heroes who laid down their lives last year while protecting their communities.”
According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, 58 law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty in the history of the State of Wyoming.
A ceremony in honor of Peace Officer Memorial Day will begin Wednesday at noon at the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
