Five children are in protective custody following a police investigation that uncovered methamphetamine and paraphernalia at a residence on Gurley Avenue Tuesday, April 16.
Police Detective Sgt. Eric Dearcorn said that police were contacted after an unidentified babysitter reportedly discovered a container with meth and several meth pipes while babysitting the children, ranging in age from 18 months to 14 years old.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers responded to the Gurley residence and seized a small amount of meth, less than .10 grams, Dearcorn said.
The homeowner and mother, a 34-year-old female, was out of town.
The investigation is ongoing.
