Pet of the Week: Astro
Hey everyone! Meet Astro.
He’s a two-year-old, German shepherd mix who’s ready for his forever home! He doesn’t bark, even if he doesn’t know who you are. Instead, he’ll look at you, toy in mouth, and cock his head the way dogs do when they’re trying to figure you out.
Astro’s all about playing fetch, the timeless tradition between owner and dog where hours can pass in the blink of an eye.
In fact, if you happen across him at the City of Gillette Animal Shelter, he may just toss his toy at your feet, begging for you to give him a few minutes of play-time!
If you pick up the toy, prepare for some impressive acrobatics!
Astro is extremely agile, jumping to catch thrown toys out of the air. It doesn’t matter how high it’s thrown either, if he can reach it, he’ll catch it!
When you go to leave, you won’t hear a whimper out of him. Astro will just watch you go, waiting for you to look back. When you do (because it’s honestly hard not to), he’ll see you off with a wag of his tail and a cheeky grin, all the while holding his toy.
Be warned, however, Astro has the goofy photo op thing down…a little too well.
