Prom Dresses Wanted for Third-Annual Prom Dress Extravaganza
Ask any woman and she’s probably still got an old prom dress laying around or stuffed in a closet somewhere, and here’s an opportunity to put it to good use.
Now in its third year, the Prom Dress Extravaganza, sponsored by ANB Bank, is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s a day when high school girls line up to pick the dress of their dreams at no cost.
Branch Manager Rachel Pherson said although dresses and formal wear can be donated up to the day of prom, which is May 4 this year, no dresses can leave the pop-up dress store at the bank until the April 20 event.
According to Pherson, dressing rooms will be set up, music will be playing, and light refreshments will be served. Anyone looking for a prom dress is welcome.
Bear’s Naturally Clean also donates a dry cleaning for each donated dress before the prom.
The Prom Dress Extravaganza is designed to work like a revolving door; need a prom dress, get a prom dress, wear it on your big night, and then pay it forward by returning it, so someone else can enjoy it the following year.
ANB Bank is still in need of prom dresses, jewelry, shoes – basically anything that can be worn to prom. Donations can be dropped off during business hours at ANB Bank, located at 800 E. Seventh St.
