Ryan Gregory Named 2019 Wyoming Small Business Person Of The Year
Ryan Gregory, president of Wyoming Roofing, LLC, has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2019 Wyoming State Small Business Person of the Year.
The Gregorys are a sixth generation Wyoming family and, after purchasing the business in 2012, they decided right away they would give back to Wyoming, especially non-profits. According to their website, the key focus and strategy of the company became to perform at a higher level than any roofing contractor in the state in order to become even more philanthropic.
Wyoming Roofing is one of only 300 Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractors in the nation. Less than 1 percent of all roofing contractors in the U.S. qualify to be a Platinum Contractor.
Last year, Wyoming Roofing and a private donor helped give two free new roofs to veterans that needed help through the Roof Deployment program and three free new roofs to educators through the Roof Outreach for Those Who Teach initiative.
Altogether, the company has given four roofs away in Gillette and six in Sheridan through their various projects, including Roof Deployment for Veterans, Roof Outreach for Those Who Teach, and Nominate Your Neighbor.
“Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your employees and community have helped you build an outstanding business that has strengthened your state’s economy,” SBA director Linda McMahon wrote in the letter informing Gregory of the award. “The SBA is pleased to celebrate your achievements and recognize your personal role in driving our nation’s economic growth.”
According to a Facebook post by his wife Bonnie, upon opening the letter, Ryan shed a few tears and was honored, awestruck, proud, and humbled.
“True to his person,” Bonnie wrote in the post, “he wanted to make sure that if I was going to post this on social media, that I made sure that everyone knew that his receiving this award stemmed from a team effort and that he would have never been given the opportunity if it wasn’t from the support and hard work from all of us.”
