Campbell County Gas Among Cheapest in WY
Across Wyoming, gas prices are steadily going up, but Campbell County can still boast some of the cheapest gas prices in the state.
Currently, gas prices in Campbell County average $2.11 per gallon, 17 cents less than the state average of $2.28.
As of the most recent report from GasBuddy.com, the cheapest gas in Gillette is currently offered at Maverik Adventures First Stop on U.S. Highway 14-16, where the price per gallon hovers at $2.03.
Campbell County is the third cheapest county in Wyoming, in terms of gas prices. Weston and Natrona Counties can still report lower gas prices, but only just.
The county-wide average price per gallon of gasoline $2.10 in Weston County and $2.09 in Natrona County.
Wyoming, at the moment, is the eighth cheapest state in the nation where gas prices are concerned, with the statewide average approximately 23 cents less than the national average of $2.51 per gallon.
From a high of $2.76 per gallon in December 2018, gas prices had been steadily decreasing to a statewide low around $2.20 in February 2019.
Since then, however, prices are slowly, but surely, climbing once again.
The statewide average price per gallon has risen by six cents in the last two weeks, currently hovering at $2.06 per gallon.
The trend appears to fall in line with an interesting pattern laid out over the past year where the price per gallon rose from $2.36 to a high around $2.99 in September 2018.
Between May 2018 and December 2018, gas prices remained relatively steady in the $2.80 to $3.00 range before their 2019 decline.
Gas prices had not been that steady at any point in the last decade and reached heights not seen since 2014, where the price per gallon soared over $3.60 per gallon, some of the highest gas prices ever seen in Wyoming.
