Wayne Edward Patten Sr. of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away Monday March 4, 2019.
Wayne was born Feb. 20, 1955, in Crescent City, California, to Edward Wayne Patten and Kay Marlene Patten.
Wayne is survived by his best friend Amber Bellamy, his sons John Bellamy (Karen), Derek Bellamy, his step father Keith LaBard, brothers Daryl Rohn (Nancy), Kelly Patten (Daisy), Al Jordon, Steve LaBard (Shelly), sisters Valerie Courtney (Bryan), Cheryl O’Neil (Mike), Patricia Jacobson, six grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and his son Wayne Edward Patten Jr.
Wayne’s passion in life was racing. He would race cars on the streets, on the track, and anywhere else he could get away with it. When he was not racing, Wayne would go to the tracks and help his brother or his friends or even catch a race on TV. Most of Wayne’s professional career was driving a truck and for the last 18 years his home was Kissack Water & Oil Company where the Kissack team and family became his family.
A Wyoming celebration of life will be at the Gillette Memorial Chapel Thursday March 14, 2019, 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at the Rozet Bar, in Rozet, Wyoming.
A Montana celebration of life will be at The Huntley Cemetery in Huntley, Montana, at a later date.
